How to be a great coach? Realise even coaches need coaches
Did you know, even coaches need coaches?
When I first started, I thought I could figure it all out myself. Who doesn’t love a little DIY?
I knew I could coach. I had passion. I had drive.
But what I didn’t have?
Someone holding space for me.
And let me tell you — it’s a dangerous game trying to pour into others when your own cup is bone dry. Can we say - burnout bait.
I think back to my nursing days, when after handling a difficult case, you could have a supervision session or get advice from your colleagues. A chance to offload. A chance to let go. A chance to see things from a different perspective. A chance to be challenged. A chance to be reassured. It was needed in order to keep going.
And as important as it was then, I discovered it’s still important now.
The truth about coaching
The truth is:
We all have blind spots.
We all hit mindset wobbles.
We all need someone to challenge us, encourage us, and remind us we’re capable when we forget.
Your clients deserve the version of you that’s fully supported, not running on fumes and hope.
So… who’s in your corner?
Who challenges you, celebrates you, and reminds you why you started?
Don’t underestimate the power of good support.
Let’s give the coaches coaching the coaches some love. ❤️ Feel free to tag those who keep you going.
