Hi I'm Naomi and I'm an Introverted Extrovert
or is it an Extroverted Introvert?
Either way I am the type of person that nobody believes is shy when they first meet me. A lot of the time it's because my love of people and connection overshadows the anxiety I feel when I am meeting someone for the first time - especially in group settings.
However during my reflective time as I travel along my self-care journey, I came to learn a few things about myself.
The anxiety is there because I want to be liked. I want to be appreciated. I don't want to be rejected. I want to fit in and belong. I don't want to embarrass myself. I don't want to give a bad impression. I don't want to have an awkward encounter.
And the list goes on and on.
Man - how draining are these thoughts. This is not the mindset of abundance and power.
I knew something had to give because my being overly concerned about other people's opinions was feeding my insecurities and shrinking me into a lesser version of myself.
I tell you the truth - the older I got, the less these thoughts controlled my action, but do we have to wait until age finds us in order to grow, or is there a way we can be intentional about keeping these thoughts at bay?
Learning how to keep those negatives thoughts at bay is a life-long work. It will not happen overnight but when you choose to be intentional about your well-being, that is your best weapon in stripping those negative thoughts of their power.
This is why as a confidence and clarity coach I make it my mission to give my client the tools they need to overcome their desire to shrink and step out BOLDLY in their true authentic and powerful self.
No more not applying for that role or promotion because you don't think you deserve it.
No more hiding yourself because you're worried about the opinions of those around you.
No more self-sacrificing till the point of burnout because you have forgotten your voice and that your needs matter.
No more playing it small because going bigger, bolder and better in your business is outside of your comfort zone.
In order to have confidence to do what you want to do, whether it's be a better leader, creator or person - it start's with you.
